Secret Weapon Against Terrorism
Many people blame religion as the main cause of global terrorism, and rightly so—global terrorism actually derives its inspiration from religion—but do they also consider that the same switch that puts off the light is the same switch that would turn it back on again?
To the extent that global terrorism is inspired by religion to that same extent is the solution to be sought from spiritual domain. Politically-minded and secularly-minded may not sought the spiritual solution to terrorism.
Global terrorism is a phenomenon and may not be eliminated by the execution of its current leading perpetrators. These executions may only create room for the promotion of those who might turn out to be even more malevolent, spitting fire and fury of vengeance.
This is not being a prophet of doom but terrorism will not be brought to its knee by executing its perpetrators (this is not to say that they should be left alone to do whatever they like), neither will it be halted by intelligent information and military campaigns. It will only work through transformation brought about by the pursuit of the virtues of Christ—the Prince of Peace.
Militancy; diplomacy; conspiracy; power-play and political antics will do little, if any, to rid our world of threats, fear, insecurity, uncertainty, suspicion, violence and terror.
What will work will not necessarily be played at the forefront, by people wielding illustrious political and diplomatic clouts. Rather, the war against terrorism will be ‘fought’ and won on the spiritual realm by unsung heroes.
